    We Are Citizens Advice - the people’s champion. We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.   • Medibus East Riding

    ‘We operate community transport along the coastal strip of East Riding of Yorkshire serving our communities since 2003. Using accessible transport the aim is to encourage more elderly people, young people and people with mobility problems to travel and access key services.   • Carers Emergency Card

    This is a small card that identifies you as a carer and should be kept with you at all times. It provides 24-hour emergency cover should you fall ill or have an accident and cannot speak to the person you care for. View more info here

  • Whitby, Scarborough & Ryedale DAG

    Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale Disability Action Group is a user-led organisation, led by a Board of Trustees, a majority of whom are disabled people or carers. View the website here.

  • Scarborough DAG

    We are a registered charity, formed in 1989, to provide information and advice on a wide range of key disability issues.  The group is responsible for its own fundraising and its work is driven by donations. View the website here.

  • The Bridge, Catterick

    “Our Carers Break service is offered to people who live and care for a relative in their own home. We arrange for a friendly volunteer to sit with them whilst their carer takes a break. This could be for any time between 1 to 4 hours dependent on the individual.” Contact them here.

  • Hambleton Community Action

    “This service enables the carer to leave the house, attend appointments, go shopping etc. Our co-ordinator will try to match the person being cared for with a volunteer based on mutual interests, likes etc. Volunteers will usually visit between 2-3 hours per week at a time convenient for the carer and volunteer.” Contact them here.

  • Ryedale Carers Support

    Helping Carers and Older People in Ryedale. Ryedale Carers Support is a local voluntary organisation and registered charity that provides practical and emotional help for carers, the people they care for and older people living on their own. The service is provided by volunteers who can visit weekly, fortnightly or monthly for a couple of hours or so. View the website here.

  • Scarborough Support for Carers

  • Turning Tides Scarborough

  • Just 'B'

    Just ‘B’ is a specialist bereavement support and emotional wellbeing service helping children, young people and adults across the communities of North Yorkshire, as well as offering specialist support regionally and nationally. View the website here.

  • NYC Bin Assistance

    Apply for free assisted waste and recycling collections. You can get help putting out your household waste, garden waste or recycling bins, boxes and bags if you cannot put your bins out due to disability, illness, infirmity, age or other issues. View the website here.

  • North Yorkshire Fire

    A Home Fire Safety Visit is a person-centred visit to your home by either our operational staff on a fire engine or by our specialist fire prevention team.  The visit involves a methodical look at you, your home and the behaviours undertaken within your home, all our information is just guidance, but it will help you reduce the risk and severity of a fire.     Care Confidence was created by university researchers with help from members of the public and professionals. It is designed to help you feel better prepared to make decisions about paying for social care, whether for yourself or someone else.
