We are recruiting for a Community Engagement Adviser (carers) for the East Riding of Yorkshire area!

Carers Plus Yorkshire is a well-established charity of over 25 years, providing information, advice and support to unpaid family Carers across multiple districts of North Yorkshire including Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Hambleton and Richmondshire.

We are seeking a:

Community Engagement Adviser (Carers) 

Bridlington

30 hours per week

(Fixed Term 12 months in the first instance)

Salary pro-rata of £22,928 (FTE)

You will be joining an experienced team working on our Wellbeing and Prevention Service (My Neighbourhood).  The wider service supports adults 18+, with this post focusing on unpaid Carers experiencing periods of loneliness and isolation; helping them to find a balanced life, stay well and connected within their local communities. 

The role of Community Engagement Adviser (Carers) is to identify unpaid Carers who may benefit from additional support and community connections to improve their personal wellbeing and help them to build resilience and confidence to continue their caring role.  You will work closely with East Riding Carers Services, who will cover all aspects of formal information, advice and support for Carers; working alongside their support, you will focus on the social and emotional support for Carers.    

You will need good communication skills and be experienced in completing initial assessments and action planning to support individual clients. As a needs-led service, you will be required to be proactive and innovative in your approach to supporting clients as well as comfortable in developing and leading small group activities and sessions. You will have experience of working with people in their own homes and in the community.    

Flexibility is a requirement of the role.    Own transport essential.
