NHS Volunteer Recruitment Drive Underway

Carers Plus Yorkshire is spearheading an NHS volunteer recruitment drive to support vital work in Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale.

In partnership with Humberside Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, we are keen to talk to members of the community who are interested in supporting the hospital teams with a wide range of roles.  These roles may be based in the hospitals themselves, within community buildings and for some, identifying vital work that can be completed from their own homes.

‘We are really delighted to be supporting the NHS and helping clinics and services return to their usual routines.  We have been welcomed in all settings and the NHS staff are really excited to be on hand to support volunteers as they join them.  We really hope these volunteers opportunities provide fulfilling and meaningful roles for many members of our local community who are able to gift their time’.  Elizabeth McPherson, CEO, Carers Plus Yorkshire.

We have opportunities in Malton Hospital, newly at Whitby Hospital and Prospect Road Clinic in Scarborough.  These roles may include befriending, ward visits, gardening, meeting and greeting patients, driving and helping us to gather important feedback on the services provided by the NHS staff’.
